This gives me goosebumps and angers me at the same time...

VFW motorcycles drown out protestors

In short, VFW bikers drowned out the voices of protestors who showed up to protest the war. Than, in an of itself may not make sense, but these protestors were attempting to do so during a funeral for a vet of this latest Gulf War. These protestors were so full of themselves that they couldn't even consider the hurt that they were putting that soldier's family through. The protestors claimed to be Christian, but they don't seem to be acting like it.

Last day in Texas

Today was my last full day in Texas visiting Matt and Kim. It's been great to see them and I hate to leave. Today we went to a small town called Gruene, Texas. It's a small town that by all rights should have dried up and blown away years ago. However, it has managed to survive, and even thrive. On particular attraction this small town has is the Gruene Hall. A tired looking, run down bar in search of a new paint job, it has attracted musicians of many genres and even appeared in the John Travolta movie "Michael". Matt, Kim, Kimmy, and I got to see this place. Matt and I even enjoyed a bottle of "Lone Star" beer, the national beer of Texas.

Another busy day...

OK, so most of you know of my fear of heights. Actually, it's not the heights, but rather the phenomenon known as "Terminal Decelleration Syndrome" that occurs right when you meet with the ground.

Well, we spent the day at Fiesta Texas, one of the Six Flags parks. I went expecting to enjoy the water rides and "ground-level" entertainment, but before long I screwed up enough moxy to attempt the roller coasters. By the end of they day I had learned to enjoy the thrill without worrying so much that the cars were going to fly off the track.

I will say that hurtling down a spiral track some 100 feet over the ground really affirms your faith in God.

That and I like the word "moxy"

Moxy, Moxy, Moxy....

Moxy.

Well....

I did wake up. Rolled out of bed at 0830 and went looking for the jackass that painted a basecoat of fuzz on my tongue. Otherwise, no hangover. I remembered that I blogged last night, and looking back on my entries I may have said too much on them. I shall leave them be anyway.

I think I'll go back to bed now.

It's 01:34 am in texas...

Matt and Kimmy went to bed. I'm still happy for the backspace key, or no one could read this blog.

I suppose that I should crawl to bed .

i wish that people would tell me if they like me around or not. I get tired of trying to figure it out. If they don't want me in their life I'll leave.

Not sure If I wanna wake up or not...

wow...

who knew that Dr Cox from Scrubs, the Islam guy from Pitch Black, and the dud from charlie and the chocolate factory was in Platoon? I'm sure plenty of people did, but I don't care seeing as how I'm drunk still..

and I love the backspace key.

Kimmy's prifle...

You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.

"And The Vampire was all that remained on
the blood drowned creation. She attempted to
regrow life from the dead. But as she was
about to give the breath of life, she was
consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the
cycle began again."

Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek)
and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of
death, the number 9, and the element of fire.
Her sign is the eclipsed moon.

As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic
individual. You may be a little idealistic,
but you are very grounded and down to earth.
You realize that not everything lasts, but you
savor every minute of the good times. While
you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be
broken. Vampires are the best friends to have

This would be Matt's sister's profile.
A smart kid who has a lot going for her as long as she keeps her wits about her.

And I'm still drunk.

Ok, so we are still sloshed...

An I am still thankfull for the backspace key....

here is Matt's profile...

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal.

"And The Phoenix's cycle had reached
zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He
emerged from his own ashes, to be forever
immortal."

Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl
(Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum
(Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life,
the number 0, and the element of fire.
His sign is the eclipsed sun.

As a member of Form 0, you are a determined
individual. You tend to keep your sense of
optomism, even through tough times and have a
positive outlook on most situations. You have
a way of looking at going through life as a
journey that you can constantly learn from.
Phoenixes are the best friends to have because
they cheer people up easily.

at this point in time....

Matt would like to point out that they're wearing the wrong patches on the BDUs in "plattooon".

I also cannot Feel My Face or the top part ( I think it's dorsal) part of my arms.

Bring on the vodkea///

Kimmy's college...

I'm still quite drunk, but I thought I would add that I'm still thankfull for the backspace key. ALso, Kimmy got kicked out of college because they thought her cool dad was 7th day adventist pastor, when he's really Free Methodist. So they pulled her financial aide because her dad didn't worship God the way they thought he should. ANd thus a very nice girl looses college for a semester.

Also, Platoon has them carrying M16A2 rifles in the movie, which is wrong, as is calling a Sgt "sir". Thanks to my slightly less drunk friend/brother Matt, who is currently serving in the Army and going AIT in San Antonio. God, I love him.

but I'm still not getting his bud lite...

another post while drunk...;.

Ok, it's time for my semi-annual posting while drunk. I'm in San Antonio now, in the company of very good friends Matt, Kim, and Kimmy (Matt's sister).

here are my conclusions for this drunk posting.

I am very thankfull for a backspace key, because I'm much more gone than on new years.

My mom is having issues with work, apparently management sucks to be in.

Kimmy got kicked out of college, and seeing as how she's like a sister to me I'm bothered by this.

I am going to remain lonely for the rest of my pitiful life.

Platoon is a cool movie, but I remind thee that I am drunk. I cant even recall who produced/directed this movie.

Canteens are cool.

Love,

Tom

I'm going back...To Hous-ton, Hous-ton, Hou-u-ston....

Ok, so most of my readers have never heard that Dean Martin song, but I like it. Also, I'm not even heading to Houston. I'm going to San Antonio, Texas. Close enough. Oh, and I'm not "going back", either. It'll be my first time there, and my first time flying commercially. Should be interesting.

You'll note that it's almost 0200 hrs. I can't sleep. Thinking about the trip, women in my life, and other sundries.

I Got Da Blues...I Got Da Blues....

I got da "I got 8 different keys of harmonica and it's time I start playin' 'em Blues"

I've been attending church regularly, an experience I've been able to share with a dear friend. That makes a good experience even better. The church has a worship band, and I must admit that it would be fun to play harp(slang for harmonica) with the band. My harmonica skill has undoubtedly suffered since I left college, but I'm hoping that I can being myself up to speed before the next time they have auditions.

Here are the harmonicas I use.

The Hohner Special 20 is used buy many artists, including my personal favorite, John Popper of Blues Traveler.

That's my brother on the left, John in the middle, and me on the right.

Returning....

As most of you know, it's been a while since I've blogged. I've really not felt like doing so, and truthfully, I'm not sure that I do now. Nonetheless, I must.

I'll start out with this nifty thing I found on another blog.

Oddly enough, I've had a long standing fascination with the vampire, immortals, and everlasting life. Freaky, huh?
